Dr Dominika Bhatia recently moved to Dublin from Toronto, Canada, to join Converge as a postdoctoral fellow. She completed her PhD in Health Services Research at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

Dominika has garnered substantial experience in working with linked population-based administrative and survey data, evidence synthesis, and comparative policy analysis from her PhD, postdoctoral work at Women’s College Hospital and ICES in Toronto, and research roles with the North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and the World Health Organization.

Dominika’s research interests are in chronic disease epidemiology and prevention in women across the life course, with a focus on diabetes and cancer. She has conducted studies using linked population-based administrative data and policy stakeholder-commissioned evidence reviews related to understanding participation, reducing disparities, and implementing innovations in organized cancer screening programmes, as well as measurement of cancer processes and outcomes for monitoring and evaluation.
